Thank you for having shown interest to Itto's course having given time to come to class.
After Itto left, I know for many of us, his presence has been impossible to replace.
With class money we also bought a book which was Shirly's idea, The Art and Science of Dance/Movement Therapy, which happened to be a book that Itto had wanted to buy!

MAYDAY BUTOH WALK in OXFORD suitable for all ages *can arrange for those wanting to stay overnight in Oxford on Friday night, there will be a Butoh class in Oxford on Friday night as usual, 7-9pm, details at the end of this email May Day in Oxford is a fun and strange event at the same time, with many things occurring during the day throughout the city, beginning with Magdalen Church Tower singing at dawn, Morris Dancing at North Parade, and musicians playing at Sheldonian Theatre steps all morning. With its cobblestone paths and gargoyles, historical stone architecture, Oxford has great atmosphere and mythic charm, which will be a pleasure to watch and dance some Butoh! 6AM- MUSIC on Broad street 9/10AM - CAFE REASON Butoh Dance Theatre Group performance at RADCLIFFE CAMERA 12:30-4PM - THAMES RITUAL WALK from Head of the River along the beautiful riverside to Godstow Nunnery Ruins 5-7PM - BUTOH+MUSIC at Godstow Nunnery Ruins, + PICNIC, Butoh group work and text readings to dance to Everyone welcome to join the walk, it will be carried out mostly in silence. Look out for the friendly white faces!

£6 - Led by Tiff Chan, this class will involve a collaborative effort to bring together the teachings of Itto Morita, and share other relaxing Butoh and Bodyweather training methods amongst different people's experiences in Butoh, in order to organically form a new group identity. to prepare for sessions in the parks, we will work with heightening our senses, working with elements from nature to hold in the mind and body (visualisations), slow walking meditations, partner and group work and play from the two dance forms, all of which to continue Itto Morita's legacy of teaching that made me feel increasingly relaxed through training!
*I will encourage participants to keep an ongoing journal of text or drawings, please bring a suitable book for yourself

FREE - we will explore London's parks together and experience a mix of Butoh and Bodyweather outdoors in the elements!

- Please take care of yourselves by bringing enough clothing, dry clothes to change into, waterproof jacket and lunch/water.
Also, there is a Butoh class in Oxford by Cafe Reason - every friday 7-9PM, £7, taught by Jeannie Donald McKim, or Ana Barbour at East Oxford Community Centre, which is only a short walk from the bus stop when coming on the bus from London.
